The SB540--SB560 is designed as schottky barrier rectifiers diodes with forward current of 5A.
It has two features. (1) Its maximum solder temperature is 260°C. (2) Plastic material has UL classification 94V-O. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings and electrical characteristics have been concluded into several points as follow with conditiond of Tc=25°C unless other specified, single phase, half wave, 60Hz, resistive or inductive load, for capacitive load, derate current by 20%. (1) Its repetitive peak reverse voltage would be 40V for SB540 and 60V for SB560. It should be noted that valid, if leads are kept at ambient temperature an a distance of 10mm from case. (2) Its surge peak reverse voltage would be 40V for SB540 and 60V for SB560. (3) Its maximum forward voltage would be 0,55 for SB540 and 0,67 for SB560. (4) Its maximum averaged forward current, R-load, Ta=50°C would be 5A. (5) Its repetitive peak forward current f>15Hz would be 20A. (6) Its peak forward surge current 50Hz half sinus-wave would be 150A. (7) Its rating for fusing, t<10ms would be 310 A2s. (8) Its maximum thermal resistance junction to ambient would be 25K/W. (9) Its maxium thermal resistance junction to terminals would be 8K/W. (10) Its operating junction temperature would be from -50°C to 150°C. (11) Its storage temperature range would be from -50°C to +175°C. (12) Its maximum leakage current would be 0.50mA.
