The QS3257 is desiged as high speed CMOS quickswitch with quad 2:1 mux/demux with its typical applications of logic replacement, video, audio, graphics switching, muxing, hot-swapping, hot-docking, voltage translation and bus funneling.
It has many features. The first one is enhanced N channel FET with no inherent diode to Vcc. The second one is 5 bidirectional switches connect inputs to outputs. The third one is pin compatible with the 74F257, 74FCT257 and 74FCT257T. The fourth one is zero propagation delay, zero ground bounce. The fifth one is it would have TTL compatible control inputs. The sixth one is it would have undershoot clamp diodes on all switch and control pins. The seventh one is it would be available in SOIC (S1), QSOP. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its supply voltage to ground which would be from -0.5V to +7.0V. The second one is about its DC switch voltage which would be from -0.5V to +7.0V. The third one is about its DC input voltage which would be from -0.5V to +7.0V. The fourth one is about its AC input voltage (for a pulse width <= 20ns) which would be -3.0V. The fifth one is about its DC output current max sink current/pin which would be 120mA. The sixth one is about its maximum power dissipation which would be 0.5W. The seventh one is about its storage temperature range which would be from -65°C to +150°C. The eighth one is about its input high voltage which would be min 2.0V. The ninth one is about its input low voltage which would be max 0.8V. It should be noted that these ratings are those values beyond which damage to the device may occur. Exposure to these conditions or conditions beyond those indicated may adversely affect device reliability. Functional operation under absolute maximum conditions is not implied. And so on.
