The Q2240 is designed as direct digital synthesizer. Its typical applications include digital ratios and modems, PC-based instrumentation cards, handheld test and measurement equopment, portable communications terminals, digital signal processors. specialized mobile ratios (SMR), digital video / audio signal generation, arbitrary waveform or function generator, baseband transmitters and receivers, mobile / airborne communications, frequency hopping systems, local oscillator generation and so on.
It has many features. The first one is operation at 5V or 3.3V supply. The next one is 100MHz operation at 5V. The next one is 60MHz operation at 3.3V. The next one is 32-bit input resolution for frequency. The next one is 12-bit output resolution for sine wave amplitude. The next one is 14-bit output phase resolution for arbitrary waveform synthesis. The next one is 100MHz frequency update (hop) rate. The next one is arbitrary waveform mode. The next one is power down mode. The next one is 3 output signal formats: offset binary, 2'3 complement, sign magnitude. The next one is guaranteed over industrial temperature and voltage range. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its supply voltage which would be min 0.3V and max +7.0V. The next one is about its voltage on any input or output pin which would be min -0.3V and max Vdd+0.3V. The next one is about its storage temperature range which would be from -55°C to +150°C. The next one is about its junction temperature which would be max +150°C. The next one is about its I/O electrostatic discharge protection which would be min -200V and max +2000V.
