The 40L40CWPbF is designed as center tap schottky rectifier,which has been optimized for very low forward voltage drop, with moderate leakage.It would be reliable to have the operation up to 150° C junction temperature which the help of the proprietary barrier technology.Its typical applications
are in switching power supplies.
It has seven features.The first one is that it would have 150° C Tj operation.The second one is that it would be center tap TO-247 package.The third one is that it would have high purity, high temperature epoxy encapsulation for enhanced mechanical strength and moisture resistance.Thr fourth one is that it would have very low forward voltage drop.The fifth one is that it would have high frequency operation.The sixth one is that it would have guard ring for enhanced ruggedness and long term reliability.The last one is that it would be lead-Free ("PbF" suffix).That are all the features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points.The first one is about its max. average forward current which would be 20A(Per Leg) and 40A (per device) with the condition of 50% duty cycle @ TC = 122 °C, rectangular wave form.The second one is about its max. peak one cycle non-repetitive surge current(per leg) which would be 1240A with the condition of 5s sine or 3s rect. pulse and would be 350A with the condition of 10ms sine or 6ms rect. pulse.The Third one is about its non-repetitive avalanche energy which would be 20 mJ with the condition of TJ = 25 °C, IAS = 3 Amps, L = 4.4 mH.The fourth one is about its repetitive avalanche current which would be 3 A with the condition of current decaying linearly to zero in 1 sec and frequency limited by TJ max. VA = 1.5 x VR typical.The last one is about its max. DC reverse voltage and its Max. working peak reverse voltage which would be 40 V.
