The WM8580GEFT is designed as a multi-channel audio CODEC with S/PDIF transceiver. It is ideal for DVD and surround sound processing applications for home hi-fi, automotive and other audiovisual equipment. Typical applications include digital TV, DVD players and receivers, surround sound AV processors and Hi-Fi systems and automotive audio.
It has fourteen features. (1)Mutli-channel CODEC with 3 stereo DACs and 1 stereo ADC. (2)Integrated S/PDIF /IEC-60958-3 transceiver. (3)Audio performance which would be 103dB SNR ('A' weighted at 48kHz) DAC and -90dB THD (48kHz) DAC and 100dB SNR ('A' weighted at 48kHz) ADC and -90dB THD (48kHz) ADC. (4)DAC sampling frequency would be from 8kHz to 192kHz. (5)Its ADC sampling frequency would be from 8kHz to 192kHz. (6)Independent ADC and DAC sample rates. (7)2 and 3-wire serial control interface with readback, or hardware control interface. (8)GPO pins allow visibility of user selected status flags. (9)Programmable audio data interface modes which means I2S, left, right justified or DSP and 16/20/24/32 bit word lengths. (10)Three independent stereo DAC outputs with digital volume controls. (11)Two independent master or slave audio data interfaces. (12)Flexible digital interface routing with clock selection control. (13)2.7V to 5.5V analogue, 2.7V to 3.6V digital supply operation. (14)48-lead TQFP package. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded as follow. (1)Its digital supply voltage would be min -0.3V and max +3.63V. (2)Its analogue supply voltage would be min -0.3V and max +7V. (3)Its PLL supply voltage would be min -0.3V and max +5V. (4)Its voltage range digital inputs (SCLK, CSB & SDIN only) would be min DGND-0.3V and max +7V. (5)Its voltage range digital inputs would be min DGND-0.3V and max DVDD+0.3V. (6)Its voltage range analogue inputs would be min AGND-0.3V and max AVDD+0.3V.
