The WM8024 is a kind of dual 8-bit voltage output digital to analogue converter (DAC) with buffered reference input (high impedance). The device is guaranteed monolithic and is simple to use. It operate from a standard 5 V supply. Digital interfacing to the device is via a simple 3 pin serial interface and is CMOS/TTL and microprocessor compatible. The digital inputs feature schmitt triggers for high noise immunity.

The WM8024 is packaged in 8-pin small outline (SO) which allows digital control of analogue function in space critical applications. It is characteristised over commercial and industrial temperature ranges and does not require external trimming. The typical applications include: (1)programmable voltage source; (2)telecommunications; (3)automatic test equipment; (4)industrial control; (6)signal synthesis.

There are some features of the WM8024 as follows: (1)8 bit D to A converter; (2)guaranteed monotonicity; (3)5 V operation; (4)voltage output 0 V to 2.5 V; (5)microprocessor, TTL, CMOS compatible; (6)high impedance reference voltage input; (7)buffered voltage outputs; (8)fast setting time (3 s to 0.5 LSB); (9)low power consumption (2.5 mA); (10)very small 8 pin SO package.
