The ULN2001, ULN2002, ULN2003 and ULN 2004 are high voltage, high current darlington arrays each containing seven open collector darlington pairs with common emitters. Each channel rated at 500 mA and can withstand peak currents of 600 mA. Suppression diodes are included for inductive load driving and the inputs are pinned opposite the outputs to simplify board layout.
The versions interface to all common logic families: ULN2001 (general purpose, DTL, TTL, PMOS, CMOS) ULN2002 (14-25V PMOS) ULN2003 (5V TTL, CMOS) ULN2004 (6-15V CMOS, PMOS)
These versatile devices are useful for driving a wide range of loads including solenoids, relays DC motors, LED displays filament lamps, thermal printheads and high power buffers. The ULN2001A/2002A/2003A and 2004A are supplied in 16 pin plastic DIP packages with a copper leadframe to reduce thermal resistance.
They are available also in small outline package (SO-16) as ULN2001D1/2002D1/2003D1/ 2004D1.

ULN2001 Features
· Seven darlingtons per package ·Output current 500 mA per driver (600 mA peak) · Output voltage 50 V ·Integrated suppression diodes for inductive loads · Outputs can be paralleled for higher current · TTL/CMOS/PMOS/DTL Compatible inputs · Inputs pinned opposite outputs to simplify layout
The ULN2001A, ULN2002A, ULN2003A,ULN2004A, ULQ2003A, and ULQ2004A arehigh-voltage, high-current Darlington transistorarrays. Each consists of seven npn Darlingtonpairs that feature high-voltage outputswith common-cathode clamp diodes for switching inductive loads. The collector-current rating of a singleDarlington pair is 500 mA. The Darlington pairs can be paralleled for higher current capability. Applicationsinclude relay drivers, hammer drivers, lamp drivers, display drivers (LED and gas discharge), line drivers, andlogic buffers. For 100-V (otherwise interchangeable) versions of the ULN2003A and ULN2004A, see theSN75468 and SN75469, respectively.
The ULN2001A is a general-purpose array and can be used with TTL and CMOS technologies. The ULN2002Ais designed specifically for use with 14-V to 25-V PMOS devices. Each input of this device has a Zener diodeand resistor in series to control the input current to a safe limit. The ULN2003A and ULQ2003A have a 2.7-kseries base resistor for each Darlington pair for operation directly with TTL or 5-V CMOS devices. TheULN2004A and ULQ2004A have a 10.5-kseries base resistor to allow operation directly from CMOS devicesthat use supply voltages of 6 V to 15 V. The required input current of the ULN/ULQ2004A is below that of theULN/ULQ2003A, and the required voltage is less than that required by the ULN2002A.
