The TLP112A is designed as a small outline coupler, suitable for surface mount assembly. It consists of a high output power GaAs light emitting diode, optically coupled to a high speed detector of one chip photodiode transistor.
It has four features. (2) Its isolation voltage is 2500Vrms (min). (2) Its switching speed is tpHL=0.8s, tpLH=0.8s(max) (RL=1.9k). (3) It would be TTL compatible. (4) UL recognized: UL1577, file no. E67349. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) For the LED its forward current would be 20mA. (2) Its pulse-forward current is 40mA. (3) Its peak transient forward current is 1A. (4) Its reverse voltage is 5V. (5) For the detector its output current is 8mA. (6) Its peak output current is 16mA. (7) Its supply voltage is from -0.5V to 15V. (8) Its output voltage is from -0.5V to 15V. (9) output power dissipation is 100mW. (10) Its operating temperature range is from -55°C to 100°C. (11) Its storage temperature range is from -55°C to 125°C. (12) Its lead soldering temperature (10s) is 260°C. (13) Its isolation voltage (AC, 1min, RH<=60%) is 2500Vrms.
Also some electrical characteristics about it. (1) For the LED its forward voltage is min 1.22V and typ 1.42V and max 1.72V. (2) Its forward voltage temperature coefficient is typ -2mV/°C. (3) Its reverse current is max 10uA. (4) Its capacitance between terminals is typ 30pF. (5) For the detector its high level output current is typ 3nA and max 500nA with Vcc=5.5V and it would be max 5uA for Vcc=15V and it would be max 50uA at Vcc=15V and 70°C. (6) Its high level supply current is typ 0.01uA and max 1uA. (7) For coupled its current transfer ratio is min 20%. (8) Its low level output voltage is max 0.4V. (9) Its isolation resistance is min 5x10^10 and typ 10^14 . (10) Its stray capacitance between input to output is typ 0.8pF. And so on.
