Q3236 General Description
The Q3236 is a kind of phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer. Requiring only a single +5 V supply, the device contains all the necessary elements-with the exception of the VCO and loop filter components-to build a PLL frequency synthesizer operating from UHF through L-band. The typical applications include: (1)celluar base stations; (2)mobile/airborne communication; (3)frequency hopping systems; (4)digital radios and modems; (5)high performance test equipment; (6)RADAR and Missile Local Oscillators; (7)paging systems.
There are some features as follows: (1)backwards compatible with the Q3036 and Q3216 PLL chips; (2)on-chip +10/11 prescaler; (3)single +5 V supply operation; (4)wide input sensitivity range: -10 to +3.5 dBm; (5)programmable via 16 TTL/CMOS-compatible paralle inputs, 8-bit data bus, or serial loading; (6)100 MHz phase/frequency detector; (7)out-of-lock indication; (8)reference division ratios of 1 to 16 in direct parallel mode, or 1 to 64 in serial and 8-bit bus mode; (9)programmability for faster multiplexing between two pre-load frequencies; (10)evaluation board available-Q0420.
The following is about the absolute maximum ratings: (1)storage temperature, TSTG: -55 to +150; (2)junction temperature, TJ: -55 to +150; (3)supply voltage (relative to VEE): +7.0 V; (4)voltage on any non differential input pin (relative to VEE): -0.5 to VCC+0.5 V; (5)continuous output current, IOUT: 25 mA; (6)surge output current, IOUT: 200 mA ; (7)AC coupled voltage on any differential input, VIN: 1275 mVPP; (8)bipolar latchup insensitivity, ITRIG: ±100 mA; (9)ESD protection, VESD: ±2000 V.
