The Q3216 is designed as 1.6GHz low power PLL frequency synthesizer. Its typical applications include lab instrumentation, mobile / airborne commucations, frequency hopping systems, digital ratios and modems, high performance test equipment and loal oscilator generation for VSAT, DBS and GPS applications.
It has many features. The first one is backwards compatible with the Q3036 PLL chip. The next one is MIL-STD 883 screeded devices available. The next one is <0.6W power consumption nominal. The next one is single +5V supply operation. The next one is wide input sensitivity range which would be from -10dBm to +5dBm. The next one is programmable via 16 TTL/CMOS compatible parallel inputs, 8-bit data bus, or serial loading. The next one is 100MHz phase / frequency detector. The next one is high gain linearized phase / frequency detector (no dead zone): 302mV rad. The next one is out of lock indication. The next one is reference division ratios of 1 to 16 in direct parallel mode or 1 to 64 in serial and 8-bit bus mode. The next one is programmability for faster multiplexing between two pre-loaded frequencies. The next one evaluation boards available - Q0410-1, -2. That are all the main features.
Some important absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its storage temperature which would be from -55 to +150°C. The next one is about its junction temperature which would be from -55 to +150°C. The next one is about its supply voltage which would be max +7.0V. The next one is about its voltage on any non differential input pin which would be min -0.5V and max Vcc+0.5V. The next one is about its continuous output current which would be min 25mA. And so on.
