The Oxford 912 is the latest generation 1394B (Firewire800) to ATA7/ATAPI (IDE) bridge.It supports all PIO, DMA and UDMA modes up to UDMA6, delivering a sustained data transfer performance of over 88MBytes/sec. Hardware features include SBP2.0 acceleration with 'fast start', in addition to dual disk striping and transparent spanning capabilities,all designed to achieve maximum data throughput on Firewire800.
It has ten key features.The first one is that it can sustain transfer rate over 80MB/s with integrated hardware striping.The second one is that ATA7 supports modes up to UDMA6.The third one is it integrates 32-bit ARM processor.The fourth one is that it has 64KByte on-chip flash memory.The fifth one is that it handles 2 IDE devices simultaneously.The sixth one is that it is Ideal for Video Editing, DVD players and data.The seventh one is that it has the highest performance, with flexible supportfor ATAPI and Compact Flash solutions.The eighth one is that Industry renowned ARM7TDMI, with plenty of spare MIPS for product specific software.The ninth one is that Field upgradable firmware simplified production programming over 1394.The last one is about enables combo drives and convergent products.
1394B, FireWire800 is available on MAC and PC platforms, 1394 is now the industry standard digital video connectivity port.The FW912 uses embedded ARM processorto reduce asynchronous processor interrupts and so dramatically improve data transfer rates.The FW912 IDE controller complies with ATA7 and has software configurability which, when combined with optimised ARM code based on many years experience, assures compatibility with magnetic, optical and compact flash media. Hardware support is also provided for dual drives.Comprehensive application notes shorten learning curves and simplify implementation.
