UM82C450

The UM82C450 is a programmbale asynchronous communication element(ACE) chip fabricated using the sigate CMOS process.It is an improved version of it.It performs serial-to-parallel conversion on data characters received from a peripheral device or a moderm,and parallel-to-serial conversion on data characters recrived from the CPU.

Features of the UM82C450 are:(1)adds or deletes standard asynchronous communication bit to or from a serial data stream;(2)full double buffering eliminates the need for precise synchronization;(3)independently controlled transmit,receive,line status,and data set interrputs;(4)independently receiver clock input;(5)modem control functions(CTS,RTS,DSR.DTR,RI and carrier detect);(6)single +5V power supply;(7)false start bit detection;(8)complete status reporting capabilities;(9)line break generation and detection;(10)full prioitized interrupt system controls.

The absolute maximum ratings of the UM82C450 can be summarized as:(1)temperature under bias:0 to +70;(2)storage temperature:-65 to +150;(3)all input or output voltages with respect to VSS:-0.5V to +7.0V;(4)power dissipation:60mW.
