The UM8237A-5 is a progarmmable DMA controller.

Features of the UM8237A-5 are:(1)enable/disable control of individual DMA requests;(2)four independent DMA channels;(3)independent autoinitalization of all channels;(4)memory-to-memory transfers;(5)memory block initialization;(6)address increment or decrement;(7)directly expandable to any number of channels;(8)end of process input for terminating transfers;(9)software DMA requests;(10)independent poiarity control for DREQ and DACK singnals;(11)available in EXPRESS-standard temperature range.
