The UDA10 is designed as one kind of high voltage doorbell modules of standard and fast recovery. This high-voltage, high current stack that incorporate a unique modular design makes it ideally suited for high power applications such as in radar systems as charger, hold-off and clipper diodes.

UDA10 has seven features. (1)PIV from 2.5KV to 15KV. (2)Stackable to 600KV. (3)Current ratings to 7.7A. (4)Its controlled avalanche characteristics. (5)Only fused-in-glass diodes used. (6)Recovery time to 500ns. (7)Modular package for wasy stacking. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of UDA10 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its peak inverse voltage would be from 5KV to 15KV. (2)Its operating temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (3)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of UDA10 are concluded as follow. (1)Its PIV would be 10kV. (2)Its maximum forward voltage drop would be 16V at 0.5A. (3)Its maximum leakage current at PIV would be 2uA. (4)Its maximum reverse recovery time would be max 500ns. (5)Its maximum average DC output current would be 1A at Tc=75°C air and would be would be 1.25A at Tc=60°C air with extender plaste and would be 1.4A at Tc=50°C oil. (6)Its non-repetitive sinusoidal surge 8.3ms current would be 30A at Tc=100°C. (7)Its maximum reverse transient energy absorption would be 3 jouples. And so on. It should be noted that these ratings are based on using "extender plates" that provide additional surface area to radiate heat. Because of possible corona effects caused by scratches on these plates, extreme care is nessary in their handling and they are not recommended where the working voltage exceeds 7.5kV/module.
