The TXC-05810 has the following features including Access Processor for speeds up to OC-12 (622 Mbit/s);RISC-based architecture;Programmable functionality allows design tailoring and field upgrades; Two fully independent CeIIBus ports for increased throughput or redundancy;UTOPIA Level 2P interface (ATM/PHY layer emulation for cell and packet transport);32/64-bit synchronous SRAM port for data storage;Message-based Host interface;503-lead enhanced ball grid array package (EBGA).
ASPEN is a revolutionary, RISC-based processor designed to support the requirements of next-generation multi-service access systems. ASPEN supports CeIIBus bus operation in both cell and packet modes via two independent CeIIBus ports. These TXC-05810may be configured either to support redundant system operation or to provide greater system throughput. The line interface uses UTOPIA 2 for ATM cells or UTOPIA 2P for variable-length packets. Buffering of data traffic and storage of control information, such as connection tables, is performed in an external synchronous SRAM.Communication to a local Host, if desired, is message-based and performed via an external dual port RAM.The flexible nature of the ASPEN architecture allows for support of a variety of cell, packet and cell/packet interworking modes. The mode of operation for ASPEN is determined by downloaded firmware which allows for flexible field upgrades. ATM AccessEDGE TM is the first fully functional firmware load available from TranSwitch. ATM AccessEDGE supports the full range of ATM functionality required for an ATM access mux. Contact TranSwitch for further details.
