The TDA8205 is designed as nicam QPSK demodulator which is essentially divided into two signal processing sections. The first section handles all the NICAM signal acquisition, the QPSK demodulator and clock and data recovery circuits.
TDA8205 has many features. The first one is highly integrated two-chip solution for nicam demodulation. The second one is automatic dual standard demodulation. The third one is 40dB range AGC. The fourth one is single crystal operation. The fifth one is NICAM 728 data and clock recovery. The sixth one is low pass filter for PWM coded audio signals and J-17 de-emphasis.
