The DECT PBX circuit PMB2728 is one of the devices of the Siemens chip set designed for cordless basestations specified by the DECT standard.
The circuit PMB2728 consists of two main functional blocks, these are the Burst Mode Controller (BMC) and the Digital Signal rocessor (DSP).
The BMC PMB2728 can handle up to six DECT channels. PMB2728 supports the timecritical functions specified in the DECT standard.Either 6 internal connections between handheld or 2 internal and 2 external connections can be handled. An interface to a standard 8-bit microcontroller (Motorola/Mitsubishi and Intel compatible) is implemented. The on-chip RF interface allows the control of the DECT-RF circuitry with a minimum of discrete components.
The one-chip DSP ofPMB2728 can handle PCM/ADPCMtranscording and echosupression due to the DECTstandard for two channels.
