The HI-1569 is a low power CMOS dual transceiver designed to meet the requirements of MIL-STD-1553 /1760 specifications.
The transmitter section of each channel takes complementary CMOS/ TTLdigital input data and converts HI-1569 to bi-phase Manchester encoded 1553 signals suitable for driving the bus isolation transformer. Separate transmitter inhibit control signals are provided for each transmitter.
The HI-1569 receiver section of each channel converts the 1553 bus bi-phase data to complementary CMOS / TTL data suitable for inputting to a Manchester decoder. Each receiver has a separate enable input which can be used to force the output of the receiver to a logic 0. The transmitter outputs and receiver inputs for each channel are brought out to separate sets of pins. For typical MIL-STD-1553 applications the transmitter output and receiver input will be tied together at the isolation transformer.
Holt Integrated Circuits, the leader in ARINC 429 components, has continued its commitment to MIL-STD-1553 with their HI-1569 transceiver. Using proven design techniques and state-of-the-art analog CMOS technology, the new HI-1569 is the most robust and power-efficient 5V dual tranceiver in the industry. The device provides separate transmitter outputs and receiver input pins for each of the two independent channels.
The HI-1569 is available in a small 64-pin plastic quad flat pack (PQFP) package. Measuring 0.63 inches square, and only 0.063 inches thick, the HI-1569 is well suited for applications where size is a consideration.
Like the Holt HI-1567 and HI-1568, the HI-1569 offers users a lower-cost, lower-power replacement for 64-pin QFP transceivers from other manufacturers.
Samples of the HI-1569 are readily available. The part may be used with standard MIL-STD-1553 transformers with a 1:2.5 turns ratio for direct coupled and 1:1.79/1:1.4 turns ratios for transformer coupled bus connections.
