The EPC2 is designed as one kind of confuguration EPROM for FLEX devices. It is 1,695,680 x 1bit device with 5.0V or 3.3V operation.
EPC2 has eight features. (1)Serial EPROM family for configuring FLEX devices. (2)Easy to use 4-pin interface to FLEX devices. (3)Low current during configuration and near-zero standby current. (4)5.0V and 3.3V operation. (5)Software design support with the altera MAX+PLUS II development system for 486- and pentium-based PCs, and sun SPARCstation, HP 9000 series 700/800 and IBM RISC system/6000 workstations. (6)Programming support with altera master programming unit (MCU) and programming hardware from data I/O BP microsystems, and other manufactures. (7)Available in compact plastic packages which include 8-pin plastic dual in-line package (PDIP) and 20-pin plastic J-lead chip carrier (PLCC) package and 32-pin plastic thin quad flat pack (TQFP) package. (8)EPC2 has reprogrammable FLASH configuration memory. Those are all the main features.

(2)Its DC input voltage would be min -2.0V and max 7.0V. (3)Its DC output current per pin would be min -25mA and max 25mA. (4)Its DC Vcc or ground current would be max 50mA. (5)Its power dissipation would be max 250mW. (6)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (7)Its ambient temperature range would be from -65°C to 135°C. (8)Its junction temperature would be 135°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of EPC2 are concluded as follow. (1)Its high level input voltage would be min 2.0V and max Vcc+0.3V. (2)Its low level input voltage would be min -0.3V and max -0.8V. (3)Its 5.0V mode high level TTL output voltage would be min 2.4V. (4)Its 3.3V mode high level CMOS output voltage would be min Vcc-0.2V. (5)Its low level output voltage would be max 0.45V. And so on.
