The Am27C2048 is a 2 Mbit, ultraviolet erasable pro-grammable read-only memory. It is organized as 128 Kwords, operates from a single +5 V supply, has a staticstandby mode, and features fast single address loca-tion programming. The Am27C2048 is ideal for use in16-bit microprocessor systems. The device is availablein windowed ceramic DIP packages, and plastic onetime programmable (OTP) PDIP and PLCC packages.
Data can be typically accessed in less than 55 ns, al-lowing high-performance microprocessors to operatewithout any WAIT states. Am27C2048 offers separateOutput Enable (OE#) and Chip Enable (CE#) controls,thus eliminating bus contention in a multiple bus micro-processor system.
AMD's CMOS process technology provides highspeed, low power, and high noise immunity. Typicalpower consumption is only 125 mW in active mode,and 100 W in standby mode.
All signals are TTL levels, including programming sig-nals. Bit locations may be programmed singly, inblocks, or at random. Am27C2048 supports AMD'sFlashrite programming algorithm (100 s pulses), re-sulting in a typical programming time of 16 seconds.
