The W82C476 CMOS palettes are generally used in VGA,superVGA,and 8514/acompatible display adapter products.With the high-speed versions available from Winbond,monitor resolutions up to 1024 * 768 and above may be supported,with interlaced and non-supported with the W82C476 using the palette or overlay features.
It has many distinctive charactersitics: The first one is functionally compatible with Bt476.The second one is fast setting time and low glith outputs for visually clean displays.The third one is fast 0-wait state microprocessor(MPU)interface.The forth one is triple 6-bit(8-bit) DAC display outputs.The fifth one is 66 MHz,80 MHz and 100 MHz versions available,etc.
There are some absolute maximum ratings about it. Storage temperature is -65 to 150.Ambient operating temperature is -55 to 125.Junction temperature is 150.Supply voltage measured to ground is -0.5 V to 7.0 V. Analog output short circuit to Vcc or GND duration is indefinite.Soldering temperature(5 sec,1/4"from pin) is 260.Vapor phase soldering(1 miniute) is 220.
