The QT1080 is designed as 8 key QTouch sensor IC and is a self-contained digital controller capable of detecting near-proximity or touch on up to eight electrodes. It allows electrodes to project independent sense fields through any dielectric such as glass or plastic.
It has many features. The first one is that it would have eight completely independent QT touch sensing fields. The second one is that it would be designed for low-power portable applications. The second one is that it would be 100% autocal for life - no adjustments required. The fourth one is that it would have direct outputs - either encoded or 'per key'.The fifth one is that it would be fully debounced results. The sixth one is that it would have 2.8V to 5.0V single supply operation. The seventh one is that it would have 45A current typ @ 3V in 360ms LP mode. The eighth one is that it would have AKS adjacent key suppression. The ninth one is that it would have spread spectrum bursts for superior noise rejection. The tenth one is that it would have sync pin for excellent LF noise rejection. The next one is that it would have 10ms 'Fast mode' for use in slider applications. The last one is that it would have RoHS compliant packages: 32-QFN and 48-SSOP.That are all the features.
Some absolute maximum specifications have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its operating temperature which would be from -40 to +85°C.The second one is about its storage temperature which would be from -50 to +125°C.The third one is about its Vdd which would be from -0.3 to +6.0V.The fourth one is about its max continuous pin current, any control or drive pin which would be ±20mA.The fifth one is about its short circuit duration to ground or Vdd, any pin which would be infinite. The sixth one is about its voltage forced onto any pin which would be from -0.3V to (Vdd + 0.3) Volts. For the recommended operating conditions the first one is about its operating temperature which would be from -40 to +85°C.The second one is about its Vdd which would be from +2.8 to +5.0V.The third one is about its short-term supply ripple+noise which would be ±5mV/s.The fourth one is about its long-term supply stability which would be ±100mV.The fifth one is about its Cs range which would be from 2.2 to 100nF.The last one is about its Cx range which would be from 0 to 50pF.And so on.
