The piezoeletric element produces a voltage which is proportional to the acceleration of an impact or a vibration to which it is exposed. The shock sensor utilizes piezoeletric ceramics to convert the energy of impact into a proportional eletrical signal. The piezoelectric shock sensor uses a "unimorph"diaphragm which consist of a piezoelectric ceramic disk laminated to a metal disk. The diaphragm is supported alongits circumference in a housing. The sensor features compact, lighweight design, and is suitable for a wide range of applications requiring impact and vibration sensing.It has many unique features: The first one is compact, lighweight design. The second one is high sensitivity assures it picks up even microlevel impact and vibration.The third one is rugged construction survive impact and vibration stresses.The last one is it requires no bias voltage.Otherwise, there are also some applications. The first one is car burglar sensors on doors. The second one is intruder sensors at windows or doors. The third one is burgular alarms for showcases and safes.The last one vibration sensors for car audio equipment.
There are some specifications about it.Output voltage is 40 mVp/G(25, 20Mohms load, 10Hz to 1kHz). Capacitance is 10000pF±30%(25, 1kHz). Insulation resistance is 30 ohms(100 VDC).(notes: 1.the component should be fixed at the place where the main axis of sensor has same direction as the vibration axis.2.please avoid applying DC-bias by connection DC blocking capacitor or some other way because; otherwise , the component may be damaged.
