AP2007 General Description

The AP2007 is a low-cost, full featured, synchronous voltage-mode controller designed for use in single ended power supply applications where efficiency is of primary concern. Synchronous operation allows for the elimination of heat sinks in many applications. The AP2007 is ideal for implementing DC/DC converters needed to power advanced microprocessors in low cost systems or in distributed power applications where efficiency is important. High-side drive circuitry, and preset shoot-thru control, allows the use of inexpensive 1P+1N-channel power switches.

AP2007's features include temperature compensated voltage reference, Virtual Frequency ControlTM method to reduce external component count, an internal 200KHz virtual frequency oscillator, under-voltage lockout protection, soft-start, shutdown

AP2008 General Description

The AP2008 integrates Pulse-Width-Modulation (PWM) control circuit into a single chip, mainly designs for power-supply regulator. All the functions include an on-chip 0.77V reference output, an error amplifier, an adjustable oscillator, a soft-start, UVLO, SCP circuitry, and a push-pull output circuit. Switching frequency is adjustable by trimming CT. During low VCC situation,the UVLO makes sure that the outputs are off until the internal circuit is operational normally.It has many unique features: The first one is PWM Buck Control Circuitry. The second one is operating voltage can be up to 20V. The third one is under voltage Lockout (UVLO) Protection. The forth one is Short Circuit Protection (SCP). The fifth one is soft-start circuit.The sixth one is 0.77V voltage reference Output. The seventh one is 8-pin SOP package,etc. Besides, it also has many applications: The first one is backlight inverter. The second one is LCD Monitor. The third one is XDROM, XDSL Product. The forth one is DC/DC converters in computers, etc.

There are some absolute maximum ratings about it.Supply voltage(VCC) is 22 V.Amplifier input voltage(VI) is 20 V.Collector output voltage(VO ) is VCC-1.0V V.Source current(ISOURCE ) is 200 mA.Sink current(ISINK) is 200 mA.Operating temperature range(TOP) is -20oC to +85 oC.Storage temperature range(TST) is -65oC to +150 oC.Otherwise,there are also some electrical charactersitics about it.Supply voltage(VCC ) is 3.6V min and 20 V max.Amplifier input voltage(VI) is 1.05V min and 1.45 V max.Collector output voltage(VO) is Vcc-1.5 V max.Current into feedback terminal(IFB) is 45 A max.Feedback resistor(RF) is 100 k min.Timing capacitor is 100 pF min and 6800 pF max.Oscillator frequency(FOSC) is 10KHz min and 300 KHz max.Operating free-air temperature(TOP) is -20ºC min and 85 ºC max.
