AEDR-8300-1W2 General Description
The AEDR-8300 series is the smallest optical encoder employing reflective technology for motion control purposes. The encoder combines an emitter and a detector in a single surface mount leadless package. When used with a codewheel or linear codestrip, the encoder translates rotary or linear motion into digital output.
The AEDR-8300 series outputs TTL compatible quadrature signals; and as such, can be interfaced directly with most of hte signal processing circuitries. Hence, the encoder provides great design-in flexibility and easy integration into existing systems.
The AEDR-8300 series provides motion sensing at a competitive cost, making it ideal for high volume applications, Its small size and surface mount package make it ideal for printers, copiers, card readers and many consumer products, particularly where space and weight are design constraints.
AEDR-8300-1W2 Maximum Ratings
The miniature in size provide flexibility in design, especially in space constraint application, yet offering a high resolution (up to 212LPI) for fine position feedback control.
Encoder also offers low power consumption which will be ideal for consumer application while it is high operating frequency allows it to work with various motor speed.
The reflective encoder is a environmental friendly product inline with European ROHS requirement.
AEDS-9640-210 General Description
This new encoder product family is part of Avago’s continued expansion of our Optical Encoder offerings using transmissive technology. The additional higher resolution of 360LPI to the AEDS-964x family series is our latest add-on offering which are not offered by our competitors today. This will give optimum resolution for positioning and control, suitable in most of office automation applications.
The AEDS-964x series uses the Incremental Transmissive Optical technology, which enables rotary or linear position detection when operating in conjunction with either a codewheel or codestrip. The encoder consists of a lensed LED source and a detector IC enclosed in a small C-shaped plastic package.
The products are offered in an ultra small package to enable applications with space constraint area, and to fit into today’s need for smaller and more compact end products.

The resolution range from 150LPI to 360LPI is the optimum resolution for positioning and control, suitable in most office automation applications today.
The operating frequency has increased from 20kHz to higher count up to 60kHz. This enables wider motor speed selection range to meet market trends need for speed demands. The encoders are all fully RoHS compliant and environmentally friendly.
The AEDS-964x series are built using high volume production line which is cost effective and has excellent quality and reliability track record. With the strategy of moving to multiple source, assurance of supply is guaranteed.
