The 40CTQ150SPbF center tap schottky rectifier is designed to be optimized for very low forward voltage drop, with moderate leakage.It would be reliable for operation up to 175° C junction temperature with the help of the proprietary barrier technology.Its typical applications are in switching power supplies, converters, free-wheeling diodes, and reverse battery protection.
It has seven features.The first one is that it would have 175° C TJ operation.The second one is that it would be center tap TO-220 packaged.The third one is that it would have high purity, high temperature epoxy encapsulation for enhanced mechanical strength and moisture resistance.The fourth one is that it would have very low forward voltage drop.The fifth one is that it would have high frequency operation.The sixth one is that it would have guard ring for enhanced ruggedness and long term reliability.The last one is that it would be Lead-Free ("PbF" suffix).That are all the features.
There are some major ratings and characteristics about it.The first one is about its IF(AV) rectangular waveform which would be 40 A.The second one is about its VRRM which would be 150 V.The third one is about its IFSM @ tp = 5 s sine which would be 1500 A.The fourth one is about its VF @ 20 Apk,TJ=125°C(per leg) which would be 0.71 V.The fifth one is about its TJ which would be from -55 to 175 °C.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into four points as follow.The first one is about its max. average forward which would be 20A (Per Leg) and 40A (Per Device).The second one is about its max. peak one cycle non-repetitive surge current which would be 1500A with the condition of 5s Sine or 3s Rect. pulse and would be 250A with the condition of 10ms Sine or 6ms Rect. pulse.The third one is about its non-repetitive avalanche energy(Per Leg) which would be 1.0 mJ with condition of TJ = 25 °C, IAS = 1.5 Amps, L = 0.9 mH.The last one is about its repetitive avalanche current(Per Leg) which would be 1.5A with the condition of current decaying linearly to zero in 1 sec and frequency limited by TJ max. VA = 1.5 x VR typical.
