The 10938 is designed as dot matrix display controller which is a two-chip MOS/LSI general purpose display controller system designed to interface to dot matrix display (vacuum-fluorescent or LED).
It has many features. The first one is 20-channel display driver cascadable to 80. The second one is standard 5 x 7 character font. The third one is separate cursor driver output. The fourth one is direct drive capability for vacuum-fluorescent displays. The fifth one is 128 x 35 PLA provides segment decoding for ful 96-character ASCII set, plus 32 special characters. The sixth one is serial or parallel data input for 8-bt display and control characters. The seventh one is brightness, refresh rate, and display mode controls. The eighth one is 40-pin DIP. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its operating temperature which would be from 0°C to 70°C for commercial and would be from -40°C to +85°C for industrial. The second one is about its second temperature range which would be from -55°C to +125°C. The third one is about its operating voltage which would be from -22V to -18V. The fourth one is about its operating display voltage which would be -50Vdc. It should be noted that stresses above those listed under absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to the device.
Some DC characteristics about it. The first one is about its input voltage D0-D7, LD, SIP which would be min -1.2V and max 0.3V for logic 1 and would be min Vdd and max -4.2V for logic 0. The second one is about its input voltage POR which would be min -3.0V and max +3.0V for logic 1 and would be min Vdd and max -10.0V for logic 0. The third one is about its output voltage SOP which would be min -1.2V and max Vss for logic 1 and would be min Vdd and max -4.2V for logic 0. And so on. For more information please contact us.
