The 10937 is designed as alphanumeric display controller which is a MOS/LSI general purpose display controller system designed to interface to segmented displays (vacuum-fluorescent or LED).
It has many features. The first one is 16 character display driver with decimal point and comma tail. The second one is 14 or 16 segment drivers. The third one is up to 66KHz data rate. The fourth one is direct digit drive of 20mA at 50 volts. The fifth one is supports vacuum fluorescent, or LED displays. The sixth one is 64 x 16-bit PLA provides segment decoding for ASCII character set (all caps only). The seventh one is serial data input for 8-bit display and control data words. The eighth one is 40-pin DIP. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. The first one is about its supply voltage which would be min +0.3V and max -20V. The second one is about its input voltage which would be min +0.3V and max -20V. The third one is about its output voltage which would be min +0.3V and max -50V. The fourth one is about its operating current which would be max 7mA. The fifth one is about its output current digits which would be max 20mA. The sixth one is about its output current segments which would be max 10mA. The seventh one is about its operating temperature which would be from 0°C to +70°C for commercial and would be from -40°C to +85°C for industrial. The eighth one is about its input capacitance which would be max 5pF. The ninth one is about its output capacitance which would be max 10pF.
