TMS34020

The TMS34020 is designed as the second generation of an advanced high-performance CMOS 32-bit microprocessor optimized for graphics display systems. With a built-in instruction cache, the ability to simultaneously access memory and registers, and an instruction set designed to expedite raster graphics operations, it provides user-programmable control of the CRT interface as well as the memory interface (both standard DRAM and multiport video RAM).

TMS34020 has eleven features. (1)Instruction cycle time is 100ns or 125ns. (2)Fully programmable 32-bit general-purpose processor with 512-megabyte linear address range (bit addressable). (3)Second-generation graphics processor. (4)Pixel processing, XY addressing, and window checking built into the instruction set. (5)Programmable 1-, 2-, 4-, 8-, 16-, or 32-bit pixel size with 16 boolean and 6 arithmetic pixel-processing options (raster-ops). (6)512-byte LRU on-chip instruction cache. (7)Optimized DRAM/VRAM interface. (8)Flexible host processor interface. (9)Flexible multiprocessor interface. (10)Programmable CRT control. (11)Direct support for special features of 1M VRAMs. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of TMS34020 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its maximum supply voltage Vcc would be 7V. (2)Its input voltage range would be from -0.3V to 7V. (3)Its off-state output voltage range would be from -2V to 7V. (4)Its operating free-air temperature range would be from 0°C to 70°C. (5)Its storage temperature range would be from -10°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of TMS34020 are concluded as follow. (1)Its high level output voltage would be min 2.6V. (2)Its low level output voltage would be max 0.6V. (3)Its output current leakage (high impedance) would be max +/-20uA. (4)Its input current leakage would be max +/-20uA. And so on.
