TLP191

The TLP191 is designed as a small outline coupler, suitable for surface mount assembly. It consists of a GaAs light emitting diode, optically coupled to a series connected photo diode array with shunt resistor which is suitable for MOSFET gate drive.

TLP191 has four features. (2) Its open voltage is 7.0V min. (2) Its short current is 24.0uA min. (3) Its isolation voltage is 2500Vrms min. (4) Its UL recognized: UL1577, file no. E67349. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of TLP191 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) For the LED its forward current would be 50mA. (2) Its forward current derating would be -0.5mA/°C. (3) Its pulse-forward current os 1A. (4) Its reverse voltage is 3V. (5) Its junction temperature is 125°C. (6) For the detector its forward current is 50uA. (7) Its reverse voltage is 10V. (8) Its operating temperature range is from -40°C to 80°C. (9) Its storage temperature range is from -55°C to 125°C. (10) Its lead soldering temperature is 260°C (10s). (11) Its isolation voltage is 2500(AC, 1min, RH<=60%.) Vrms.

Also some individual electrical characteristics and isolation characteristics about TLP191. (1) For the LED its forward voltage is min 1.2V and typ 1.4V and max 1.7V. (2) Its capacitance is typ 30pF and max 60pF. (3) Its reverse current is max 10uA. (4) For the detector its forward voltage is typ 7V. (5) Its reverse current is typ 7uA. (6) Its capacitance input to output is typ 0.8pF. (7) Its isolation resistance is min 5x10^10 and typ 10^14 . (8) Its isolation voltage would be min 2500Vrms for AC, 1minute and would be typ 5000Vrms for AC, 1second in oil and would be typ 5000Vdc for DC, 1minute in oil. (9) Its open voltage would be min 7V and typ 8V. (10) Its short current would be min 24uA and typ 40uA. And so on.
