The TLP176 is designed as TOSHIBA photocoupler which consists of gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a photo-MOSFET in a SOP, which is suitable for surface mount assembly. It is suitable for replacement of mechanical relays in many applications which require space savings.
TLP176 has seven features. (1) SOP 4 pin (2.54SOP4): 1-form-A. (2) Its peak off-state voltage is 60V. (3) Its trigger LED current is 3mA max. (4) Its on-state current is 300mA. (5) Its on-state resistance is 2 max. (6) Its isolation voltage is 1500Vrms min. (7) UL recognized: UL1577, file no. E67349. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of TLP176 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) For the LED its forward current would be 50mA. (2) Its forward current derating would be -0.5mA/°C. (3) Its pulse-forward current os 1A. (4) Its reverse voltage is 5V. (5) Its junction temperature is 125°C. (6) For the detector its off state output terminal voltage is 60V. (7) Its on-state current is 300mA. (8) Its on-state RMS current derating is -3.0mA/°C. (9) Its operating temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C. (10) Its storage temperature range is from -55°C to 125°C. (11) Its lead soldering temperature is 260°C (10s). (12) Its isolation voltage is 1500(AC, 1min, RH<=60%.) Vrms. Also some individual electrical characteristics about TLP176. (1) For the LED its forward voltage is min 1.0V and typ 1.15V and max 1.3V. (2) Its capacitance is typ 30pF. (3) Its reverse current is max 10uA. (4) For the detector its off-state current would be max 1uA with condition of Voff=60V. (5) Its capacitance would be typ 140pF with condition of V=0, f=1MHz.
