Description

The TLP161J is designed as a small outline coupler, suitable for surface mount assembly. It consists of a photo triac, optically coupled to a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode.

TLP161J has six features. (1) Zero voltage crossing turn-on. (2) Peak off state voltage is 600V (min). (3) Trigger LED current is 10mA (max). (4) Its on state current is 70mA (max). (5) Its isolation voltage is 2500Vrms (min). (6) UL recognized: UL1577, file no. E67349. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of TLP161J have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) For the LED its forward current would be 50mA. (2) Its forward current derating would be -0.7mA/°C. (3) Its pulse-forward current is 1A. (4) Its reverse voltage is 5V. (5) Its junction temperature is 125°C. (6) For the detector its off state output terminal voltage is 600V.
