Note: Using continuously under heavy loads (e.g. the application of high temperature/current/voltage and the significant change in temperature, etc.) may cause this product to decrease in the reliability significantly even if the operating conditions (i.e. operating temperature/current/voltage, etc.) are within the absolute maximum ratings. Please design the appropriate reliability upon reviewing the Toshiba Semiconductor Reliability Handbook ("Handling Precautions"/"Derating Concept and Methods") and individual reliability data (i.e. reliability test report and estimated failure rate, etc).
(Note) Device considered a two terminal device: Pins 1 and 3 shorted together and pins 4 and 6 shorted together.
The TLP160G is designed as a small outline coupler, suitable for surface mount assembly. It consists of a photo triac, optically coupled to a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode.
TLP160G has five features. (1) Peak off state voltage is 400V (min). (2) Trigger LED current is 10mA (max). (3) Its on state current is 70mA (max). (4) Its isolation voltage is 2500Vrms (min). (5) UL recognized: UL1577, file no. E67349. That are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of TLP160G have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) For the LED its forward current would be 50mA. (2) Its forward current derating would be -0.7mA/°C. (3) Its pulse-forward current is 1A. (4) Its reverse voltage is 5V. (5) Its junction temperature is 125°C. (6) For the detector its off state output terminal voltage is 400V. (7) Its on state RMS current is 70mA at 25°C and 40mA at 70°C. (8) Its on state current derating (Ta 25°C) is -0.67mA/°C. (9) Its peak on state current (100s pulse, 120pps) would be 2A. (10) Its peak nonrepetitive surge current (PW = 10ms, DC = 10%) would be 1.2A. (11) Its storage temperature range would be from -55 to 125°C. (12) Its operating temperature range would be from -40 to 100°C. (13) Its lead soldering temperature (10s) would be 260°C. (14) Its isolation voltage (AC, 1min., R.H 60%) would be 2500Vrms.
Also some individual electrical characteristics about TLP160G. (1) For the LED its forward voltage is min 1.0V and typ 1.15V and max 1.3V. (2) Its reverse current is max 10uA. (3) Its capacitance is typ 30pF. (4) For the detector its peak off state current is typ 10nA and max 1000nA. (5) Its peak on-state voltage would be typ 1.7V and max 2.8V. (6) Its holding current is typ 0.6mA. And so on. If you have any question or suggestion or want to know more information of TLP160G please contact us for details. Thank you!
