TLN221

The TLN221 is designed as toshiba infrared LED. Typical applications include infrared LED for space-optical transmission.

TLN221 has six features. (1)High radiant power is typ 18mW at If=50mA. (2)Narrow radiant pattern which would be typ +/-21°. (3)High speed response which would be typ 30ns. (4)A light source for remote control. (5)Wireless AV-signal transmission purpose. (6)High speed data transmission purpose. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of TLN221 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its forward current would be 100mA. (2)Pulse forward current would be 1000mA. (3)Its power dissipation would be 220mW. (4)Its reverse voltage would be 4V. (5)Its operating temperature range would be from -25°C to 85°C. (6)Its storage temperature range would be from -30°C to 100°C. (7)Its soldering temperature would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of TLN221 are concluded as follow. (1)Its forward voltage would be typ 1.8V and max 2.2V. (2)Its reverse current would be max 60uA. (3)Its radiant power would be min 14mW and typ 18mW. (4)Its radiant intensity would be typ 30mV/sr. (5)Its rise time and fall time would be typ 30ns. (6)Its cut-off frequency would be min 10MHz and typ 15MHz. (7)Its capacitance would be typ 110pF. (8)Its peak emission wavelength would be min 830nm and typ 870nm and max 900nm. (9)Its spectral line half width would be typ 50nm. (10)Its half value angle would be typ +/-21°.
