The PIC16F877A-I/P DIP will automatically switch CLKOUT to the INB input when the loss of INA is detected. With this configuration, when INA becomes active again, NO_INA will go low and the PIC16F877A-I/P DIP will switch CLKOUT to INA. Since the Clock Loss Detector will set NO_INA low as soon as an INA clock edge occurs, sporadic edges on INA could cause CLKOUT to switch unpredictably between INA and INB. Because of this, external system control of SELB is best in cases where the INA clock is sporadic.
Three basic address spaces are available to support this wide range of configurations: Program Memory, Register File, and Expanded Register File. The Register File is composed of 61/125 bytes of General-Purpose Registers, two I/O Port registers, and 12/14 Control and Status regis- ters. The Expanded Register File consists of three control registers in the PIC16F877A-I/P DIP, and four control registers, a SPI Receive Buffer, and a SPI compare register in the PIC16F877A-I/P DIP. The measured number is then extrapolated back to remove the effects of charging or discharging the 50 pF capacitor. This means that the times quoted in the timing characteristics are the true bus relinquish times of the part and as such are independent of external bus loading capacitances. The Miniature Card is an expansion card that pro- vides a low cost, low power, high-performance, small form factor solution for data and file storage to the portable, handheld market, which includes audio, digital film, wireless, and PDA (Portable Digital Assistant) applications.
Information contained in this publication regarding device PIC16F877A-I/P applications and the like is intended through suggestion only and may be superseded by updates. It is your responsibility to ensure that your application meets with your specifications. No representation or warranty is given and no liability is assumed by Microchip Technology Incorporated with respect to the accuracy or use of such information, or infringement of patents or other intellectual property rights arising from such use or otherwise. Not more than one output should be shorted at a time. Duration of short should not exceed one second. The use of high-speed test apparatus and/or sample and hold techniques are preferable in order to minimize internal chip heating and more accurately reflect operational values. Otherwise prolonged shorting of a high output may raise the chip PIC16F877A-I/P temperature well above normal and thereby cause invalid readings in other parametric tests. In any sequence of parameter tests, IOS tests should be performed last.
