The PI74FCT162Q245T is a 16-bit bidirectional transceiver designedfor asynchronous two-way communication between data buses.
The direction control input pin (xDIR) determines the direction ofdata flow through the bidirectional transceiver. The Direction andOutput Enable controls are designed to operate PI74FCT162Q245T aseither two independent 8-bit transceivers or one 16-bit transceiver.
The output enable (OE) input, when HIGH, disables both A and Bports by placing them in HIGH Z condition.
The PI74FCT162Q245T is designed with current limiting resistorsat its outputs to control the output edge rate resulting in lowerground bounce and undershoot. PI74FCT162Q245T features a typicaloutput impedance of 35W, eliminating the need for externalterminating resistors for most bus interface applications. This noisesuppression benefit is designated by the letter "Q" (for quiet) in thepart number.
The PI74FCT162Q245T also features "Bus Hold" which retainsthe input's last state whenever the input goes to high-impedancepreventing "floating" inputs and eliminating the need for pullup/down resistors.
