The P7614-1307-6R8M is designed as one member of the P7614 family which comprises high-energy-density surface mount inductors for high current power converters. The P7614-1307-6R8M family handles large transient current spikes without saturation. Inductance values are available as low as 0.1H. Components are available in ten mechanical sizes, all offering high energy storage and current handling in very low profile packages, and offer operating temperature down to -55°C. A distributed gap powder core P7614-1307-6R8M is used, yielding stable inductance at very high currents. The core material is moulded over the winding and provides a robust, self shielded structure that operates over a wide temperature range.
P7614-1307-6R8M has nine features. (1)Lead-free (Pb-free). (2)RoHS compliant. (3)High current (to 75A saturation). (4)Low DCR (to 0.7mohms). (5)Powder core. (6)Low profile (to 2mm). (7)Wide temperature range from to -55°C. (8)Closed magnetic circuit. (9)Flat for pick and place. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of P7614-1307-6R8M have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its storage temperature range would be from -15°C to 40°C. (2)Its operating temperature range would be from -55°C to 125°C. (3)Its soldering temperature profile peak would be 260°C for 10 seconds. (4)Its continuous component body temperature would be 100°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device. Handle in accordance with IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033 procedure for components classified as IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020 moisture sensitivity level 2.
Also some electrical characteristics of P7614-1307-6R8M are concluded as follow. (1)Its inductance would be 6.8uH+/-20%. (2)Its DCR would be max 14mohms. (3)Its Irms would be 12A. (4)Its Isat would be 21A. And so on. It should be noted that inductance measured at 100kHz, 250mV. Irms is the current at which the temperature rise is 40°C typical, neglecting core losses. Isat is the DC current at which the zero-current inductance drops by 20%. Operating temperature (part, i.e. ambient + temp rise) -55°C to +125°C. Not recommended for continuous body temperature in excess of 100°C in order to avoid thermal ageing.
