The P7612-1208-R21M is designed as one member of the P7612 family which comprises high-energy-density surface mount inductors for high current power converters operating at up to 1MHz. The P7612-1208-R21M handles large transient current spikes without saturation. Inductance values are available as low as 0.1H. Components are available in three mechanical sizes and offer compact solutions for applications requiring high energy storage. The ferrite is moulded over the winding and provides a robust, self shielded structure that operates over a wide temperature range.
P7612-1208-R21M has nine features. (1)Lead-free (Pb-free). (2)RoHS compliant. (3)High current (to 55A saturation). (4)Low DCR (to 0.5mohms). (5)Low inductance values 0.1 to 0.44uH. (6)Wide temperature range from -55°C to 125°C. (7)Closed magnetic circuit. (8)Surface mount. (9)Flat for pick and place. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of P7612-1208-R21M have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 125°C. (2)Its operating temperature range would be from -55°C to 125°C. (3)Its soldering temperature profile peak would be 260°C for 10 seconds. (4)Its component body temperature would be 125°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device. Handle in accordance with IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033 procedure for components classified as IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020 moisture sensitivity level 2.
Also some electrical characteristics of P7612-1208-R21M are concluded as follow. (1)Its inductance would be 0.21uH+/-20%. (2)Its DCR would be max 0.6mohms. (3)Its Irms would be 45A. (4)Its Isat would be 50A. And so on. It should be noted that inductance measured at 1MHz, 250mV. IRMS is the current at which the temperature rise is 40°C typical, neglecting core losses.
