The P3904 is designed as a low distortion transformer for ADSL over POTS applications using analog devices AD20msp918 and centillium L22SU15 chipsets. It is certified to safety standards IEC 950 and UL 60950 for supplementary insulation, 250V working voltage. P3904 is a UL recognized component and is supported by an IEC CB test certificate. The part is completely lead-free and suitable for lead-free and conventional processing. The safety system yields very low transformer parasitics, ensuring that P3904 exhibits excellent frequency response and balance; in combination with its good harmonic distortion performance, P3904 is ideally suited to low cost yet demanding ADSL applications.
P3904 has seven features. (1)Lead-free (Pb-free). (2)Low distortion. (3)IEC 950 and UL 60950 certified. (4)UL recognized component. (5)Supplementary insulation. (6)Surface mount. (7)Industry standard footprint. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of P3904 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its short term isolation voltage 1s would be 2.12kVrms and 3.0kVdc. (2)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to 85°C. (3)Its reflow temperature 10 seconds would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of P3904 are concluded as follow. (1)Its inductance would be min 4.5mH and typ 5mH and max 5.5mH. (2)Its leakage inductance would be max 15uH. (3)Its interwinding capacitance would be max 50pF. (4)Its DC resistance would be typ 0.8ohms. (5)Its turns ratio would be min 0.99 and typ 1.00 and max 1.01. (5)Its voltage isolation would be min 2.12kVrms and min 3.0kV with conditions of 50Hz and DC. (6)Its functional temperature range would be from -40°C to 85°C.
