The P2827 is designed as one kind of one kind of powerline carrier isolation transformers which is specifically designed to provide signal coupling with safety for powerline carrier applications from 40 to 90kHz. Typically, the P2827 is driven from a low-impedance
source and connected to the mains network using capacitors whose values are chosen to resonate with the transformer leakage inductance.
P2827 has ten features. (1)Lead-free (Pb-free). (2)RoHS compliant. (3)Reinforced insulation. (4)14.6mm seated height. (5)Vacuum encapsulated. (6)Low distortion. (7)IEC 60950 and UL 60950 certified. (8)UL recognized component. (9)Ratio 1.68:1. (10)Differential surge resistance. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of P2827 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its short term isolation voltage 1s would be 4.6kVrms, 6.5kVdc. (2)Its coil temperature continuous would be 155°C. (3)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to 125°C. (4)Its lead temperature 10s would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of P2827 are concluded as follow. (1)Its series resistance would be min 0.2ohms and typ 0.27ohms at 40kHz and would be typ 0.38ohms and max 0.9ohms at 90kHz and would be min 0.2ohms and max 0.9ohms at 40 to 90kHz. (2)Its saturation current would be min 120mA and typ 150mA. (3)Its thermal resistance would be typ 50°C/W and max 70°C/W. (4)Its turns ratio N would be min 1.65 and typ 1.68 and max 1.71. (5)Its voltage would be min 4.0kVrms. (6)Its isolation would be min 5.5kV. (7)Its surge resistance would be min 1.5kV. (8)Its functional operating range would be from -25°C to 85°C.
