Description

The OPF470 is a low noise silicon PIN photodiode mounted in a low cost package for fiber optic applications. OPF470 offers fast response at moderate bias and is compatible with LED and laser diode sources in the 800-900 nm wavelength region. Low capacitance improves signal to noise performance in typical short haul LAN applications.The PIN Photodiodes are designed to interface with multimode optical fibers from 50/125 to 200/300 microns.

Features of the OPF470 are:(1)electrically isolated plastic cap package; (2)high speed, low capacitance; (3)designed to self align in the 0.228 diameter bore of standard fiber optic receptacles; (4)press fit simplifies component installation; (5)optimized for fiber optic applications using 50 to 200 micron fiber.In cases where extremely high reliability is required (such as use in nuclear power control,aerospace and aviation, traffic equipment,medical equipment, and safety equipment), safety should be ensured by using semiconductor devices that feature assured safety or by means of users' fail-safe precautions or other arrangement.

The absolute maximum ratings of the OPF470 can be summarized as:(1)reverse voltage:100 V;(2)storage temperature range:-55 to 115;(3)lead soldering temperature:240;(4)operating temperature:-40 to 100;(5)continuous power dissipation:200mW.The products described in this document are designed, developed and manufactured as contemplated for general use, including without limitation, ordinary industrial use, general office use, personal use, and household use, but are not designed, developed and manufactured as contemplated (1) for any use that includes fatal risks or dangers that, unless extremely high safety is secured, could have a serious effect to the public, and could lead directly to death, personal injury, severe physical damage or other loss (i.e., nuclear reaction control in nuclear facility, aircraft flight control, air traffic control, mass transport control, medical life support system, missile launch control in weapon system), or (2) for any use where chance of failure is intolerable (i.e., submersible repeater and artificial satellite).
