The OPB709 consists of an infrared emitting diode and an NPN silicon photodarlington, mounted side-by-side on converging optical axes, in a black plastic housing. Maximum sensitivity typically occurs 0.125 inches from the front of the housing.The photosensor responds to radiation from the LED only when a reflective object passes within its field of view.
