The MN5290 is a kind of 16-bit A/D converter. The MN5290 is packaged in industry-standard, hermetically sealed, 32-pin, ceramic, dual-in-line package. Each is complete with internal clock and reference and has 6 user-selectable input ranges. Output data is straight binary coded for unipolar input ranges and offset binary coded for bipolar input ranges and is available in both serial and parallel formats. The device is ideal for applications requiring true 14- and 13-bit performance over extended temperature ranges. The typical applications inlcude military instrumentation, ATE and servo systems and industrial robotic position sensing systems.
There are some features of MN5290 as follows: (1)16-bit resolution; (2)14-bit performance guaranteed over temperature; (3)40sec max conversion time; (4)±0.003% FSR maximum linearity error; (5)serial and parallel outputs; (6)6 user-selectable input ranges; (7)1080 mW max power consumption; (8)standard 32-pin DIP; (9)full mil operation: -55 to +125; (10)MIL-PRF-38534 screening optional.
The following is about the absolute maximum ratings of MN5290: (1)operating temperature range: -55 to +125; (2)specified temperature range: 0 to +70; (3)storage temperature range: -65 to +150; (4)+15 V supply (+VCC, pin 27): -0.5 to +18 V; (5)-15 V supply (-VCC, pin 23): +0.5 to -18 V; (6)+5 V supply (+Vdd, pin 29): 0 to +7 V; (7)analog inputs (pins 8 and 9): ±22 V; (8)digital inputs (pins 30 and 32): 0 to +5.5 V.
