MAX716 combines circuitry for four low-output linear regulators, three DC-DC switching regulators, and power-supervisory functions on a single IC. All but one regulator output is logic controlled so thant loads may be shut down to extend batterylife. Linear-regulator outputs of MAX716 are pretrimmed to 5 V and operate with only 0.1 Vinput-output differential.
MAX716 has many unique features: The first one is four logic-controlled 5 V regulators. The second one is three switching regulators. The third one is 35uA quiescent current in standby mode. The forth one is 100mV dropout on linear regulators. The fifth one is hardware-on signal. The sixth one is CMOS RAM battery-switchover circuit,etc.There are some absolute maximum ratings about it.Input supply voltage is -0.3 V to 12 V. Operating voltage range is 5.05 V min and 11.00 V max (regulated output). Low battery indicator threshold is 5.05 V min, 5.16 V typ and 5.27 V max.Battery input is 2.3 V min and 4.0 V max. RS pulse width is 160 ms min,230 ms typ and 350 ms max.
