The L6219 is a bipolar monolithic integrated circuits ntended to control and drive both winding of bipolar stepper motor or bidirectionally control wo DC motors.

The L6219 with a few external components form complete control and drive circuit for LS-TTL or icroprocessor controlled stepper motor system. he power stage is a dual full bridge capable of ustaining 46V and including four diodes for current ecirculation.

A cross conduction protection is provided by the L6219 to avoid imultaneous cross conduction during switching urrent direction.

An internal pulse-width-modulation (PWM) controls he output current to 750mA with peak startup urrent up to 1A.

Wide range of current control from 750mA (each ridge) is permitted by means of two logic inputs nd an external voltage reference. A phase input to ach bridge determines the load current direction. thermal protection circuitry disables the outputs f the chip temperature exceeds safe operatinglimits.
