IP1718 LF

Supporting 16-port SS-SMII, 2-port MII andvarious advanced features, the IP1718 LF fitsboththe office switch and the ETTH( Ethernet to theHome) application. The IP1718 LF embedsinternal SSRAM for the use of the packet bufferand the MAC address table. Besides thetraditional switch functions, the IP1718 LFprovides the easy-to-design solution, fitting therequirement of most switch application.
The IP1718 LF also supports some features whichcan simplify the customer's design from theviewpoint of the system. The embedded regulatorcontroller can reduce the component number onthe system board. The web management can beeasily accomplished by adding an external CPUwith protocol stack. All the I/O pins can operate at3.3V or 1.8V, providing more design flexibility forpower supply distribution.

The IP1718 LF embeds 1.5Mb internal packetbuffer and stores up to 4K MAC address entries,making it suitable for the generic switchapplication. In addition, the IP1718 LF supports awide range of data rate for both egress andingress, which is useful in the ETTH(Ethernet tothe Home) application. The higher layer datapacket such as BPDU, IGMP, OSPF can beforwarded to either the 17^th or 18^th (CPU) port. Theflexible trunk configuration allows the user to scalethe switch interconnection bandwidth. When theport mirroring function is enabled, the data trafficon the source port will be forwarded to a specifieddestination port, making the switch administrationeasier. Supporting up to 18 port based VLANgroups, the IP1718 LF can be configured to fitvarious traffic partitions. The CoS function isaccomplished by configuring the priority of thephysical port, the 802.1Q VLAN tag and IPDSCP(Differentiated Service Code Point). In orderto fit the application of some special environment,the address learning and the MAC address tableaging can be disabled.
