HD6801S0

The HD6801S0 is designed as an 8-bit microcomputer unit which is compatible with the HMCS6800 family of parts. HD6801S0 is object code compatible with the HD6800 with improved execution times of key instructions plus several new 16-bit and 8-bit instructions including an 8x8 unsigned multiply with 16-bit result. It can operate as a single chip microcomputer or to be expanded to 65K bytes. It is TTL compatible and requires one +5.0V power supply.

HD6801S0 has thirteen features. (1)Expanded HMCS6800 instruction set. (2)8 x 8 multiply. (3)On-chip serial communication interface. (4)Object code compatible with the HD6800 MPU. (5)16-bit timer. (6)Single chip or expandable to 65K bytes. (7)2K bytes of ROM. (8)128 bytes of RAM (64 bytes retainable on power down). (9)29 parallel IO lines and 2 handshake control lines. (10)Internal clock /divided by four circuitry. (11)TTL compatible inputs and outputs. (12)Interrupt capability. (13)Compatible with MC6801 and MC6801-1. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of HD6801S0 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -0.3V to +7.0V. (2)Its input voltage would be from -0.3V to +7.0V. (3)Its operating temperature range would be from 0°C to +70°C. (4)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to +150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of HD6801S0 are concluded as follow. (1)Its input high voltage would be min 4.0V and max Vcc for RES and would be min 2.0V and max Vcc for other inputs. (2)Its input low voltage would be min -0.3V and max 0.8V. (3)Its input load current would be max 0.8mA. (4)Its input leakage current would be max 2.5uA. (5)Its three state offset leakage current would be max 10uA for P10 to P17 and P30 to P37 and would be max 100uA for P20 for P24. And so on.
