The HD44103CH is designed as a common signal driver for dot matrix liquid crystal graphic display systems. HD44103CH generates the timing signals required for display with its internal oscillator and supplies them to the column driver to control display, also automatically scanning the common signals of the liquid crystal according to the display duty.
HD44103CH has nine features. (1)Dot matrix liquid crystal graphic display common driver incorporating the timing generation circuit. (2)Internal oscillator (oscillation frequency can be selected by attaching an oscillation resistor and an oscillation capacity). (3)Generates display wiming signals. (4)20-bit bidirectional shift register for generating common signals. (5)20 liquid crystal driver circuits with low output impedance. (6)selectable display duty ratio 1/8, 1/12, 1/16, 1/24, 1/32. (7)Low power dissipation. (8)Power supplies is 5V+/-10% for Vcc and would be 0 to -5.5V for Vee. (9)CMOS process. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of HD44103CH have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -0.3V to +7.0V for Vcc and would be from Vcc-13.5V to Vcc+0.3V. (2)Its terminal voltage would be -0.3V to Vcc+0.3V and it would be from Vee-0.3V to Vcc+0.3V applied to terminals V1, V2, V5 and V6. (3)Its operating temperature range would be from -20°C to 75°C. (4)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 125°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of HD44103CH are concluded as follow. (1)Its input high voltage would be min 0.7Vcc and max Vcc. (2)Its input low voltage would be min 0V and max 0.3Vcc.
