FAN2108

The FAN2108 TinyBuck? is a highly efficient, smallfootprint, 8A, synchronous buck regulator.

The FAN2108 contains both synchronous MOSFETsand a controller/driver with optimized interconnects inone package, which enables designers to solve highcurrentrequirements in a small area with minimalexternal components.

External compensation, programmable switchingfrequency, and current limit features allow designoptimization and flexibility.

The FAN2108 summing current mode modulator uses losslesscurrent sensing for current feedback and over-currentprotection. Voltage feedforward helps operation over awide input voltage range.

Fairchild?s advanced BiCMOS power process FAN2108,combined with low-R_DS(ON) internal MOSFETs and athermally efficient MLP package, provide the ability todissipate high power in a small package.

FAN2108 Output over-voltage, under-voltage, and thermalshutdown protections help protect the device fromdamage during fault conditions. FAN2108 prevents prebiasedoutput discharge during startup in point-of-loadapplications.
