The ADSP2105KP55 is one member of the ADSP-21xx series. The ADSP2105KP55 Family processors are single-chip microcomputers optimizedfor digital signal processing(DSP) and other high speed numeric processing applications. The ADSP-21xx processors are all built upon a common core. Each processor combines the core DSP architecture-computation units, data address generators, and program sequencer-with differentiating features such ason-chip program and data memory RAM, a programmable timer, one or two serial ports, and on the ADSP-2111, a host interface port.
Features of the ADSP2105KP55 are:(1)25 MIPS, 40 ns maximum instruction rate; (2)separate on-chip buses for program and data memory; (3)program memory stores both instructions and data(three-bus performance); (4)dual data address generators with modulo and bit-reverse addressing; (5)efficient program sequencing with zero-overhead looping: single-cycle loop setup; (6)automatic booting of on-chip program memory from byte-wide external memory (e.g., EPROM ); (7)double-buffered serial ports with companding hardware, automatic data buffering, and multichannel operation.
The absolute maximum ratings of the ADSP2105KP55 can be summarized as:(1)operating temperature range:-55 to 125;(2)storage temperature range:-65 to 150;(3)lead temperature (10 sec) PGA:300;(4)supply voltage:-0.3 to +7V;(5)input voltage:-0.3 to Vdd+0.3V.Stresses greater than those listed above may cause permanent damage to the device. These are stress ratings only, and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions greater than those indicated in the operational sections of this specification is not implied. Exposure to absolute maximum rating conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability.ESD (electrostatic discharge) sensitive device. Electrostatic charges as high as 4000 V readily accumulate on the human body and test equipment and can discharge without detection. Although the ADSP-21xx processors feature proprietary ESD protection circuitry to dissipate high energy electrostatic discharges (Human Body Model), permanent damage may occur to devices subjected to such discharges. Therefore, proper ESD precautions are recommended to avoid performance degradation or loss of functionality. Unused devices must be stored in conductive foam or shunts, and the foam should be discharged to the destination socket before the devices are removed. Per method 3015 of MIL-STD-883, the ADSP-21xx processors have been classified as Class 1 devices.
